Learning to Read Tarot Cards

The tarot is most commonly viewed as a tool for divination. A traditional tarot reading involves a seeker - someone who is looking for answers to personal questions - and a reader - someone who knows how to interpret the cards. After the seeker has shuffled and cut the deck, the reader lays out the chosen cards in a pattern called a spread. Each position in the spread has a meaning, and each card has a meaning as well. The reader combines these two meanings to shed light on the seeker's question.

Only this explanation  is what included in the Hungarian Gypsy booklet, however we didn't think this would be enough to learn how to read this tarot cards, specially if this is your first tarot. The Hungarian Gypsy Tarot might be easy to read for those who already know how to read. But if you are only starting out learning, this explanation will not help much by understanding "the images are easy to read."  So, we included with the tarot card a digital, pdf tarot ebook, with meaning and reverse meaning of each cards. Also some spread ideas. Now even if you never read tarot card before can purchase this card. But those who can already read the Hungarian Gypsy Cards can also benefit from it.

When using this deck it is essential that you should concentrate less on the significance of the individual cards then on their relative positions and the overall meaning suggested by their arrangement on the table. The Hungarian Gypsy Tarot card can be used for virtually any systems of laying the cards.  There follow descriptions of three simple and popular techniques: Rows, The Wheel of Fortune and The Gypsy's Answer.

Rows

The cards are shuffled and both the inquirer and the card reader are satisfied that they are ready to be laid out. The inquirer cuts the deck.
The cards are arranged face  up on the table in four rows of 9 cards each (Gypsy Cards) or 8 cards each (Cartomancy Deck).

The Diagram above represents one possible starting-point. The cards adjacent to the inquirer's card (always "merriment") shed light on it. The cards on the horizontal axis to the left and right of "merriment" disclose information pertaining to the past (left) and the future (right). On the vertical axis, the cards above the inquirer's card reveal his or her thoughts and preoccupations (what is in his or her head),  those below the inquirer's card what the inquirer is reluctant to accept (what he or she treads under foot). The cards located diagonally to the inquirer's card have a bearing on both the horizontal and the vertical axis.
